Hello Classmates. I am delighted that Dave got this website together for us to post information regarding ourselves. What a great way to touch base before the reunion next October in Swarthmore.
I generally don’t do much organizing in my life and when Jeff and John suggested I might be a good person to “spearhead” the reunion committee I was skeptical. What I have found is that I am thoroughly enjoying hearing from people and reconnecting. My phone rang one Sunday afternoon and I answered it ( unusual for me). The caller identified himself and I just began laughing. I haven’t talked to Jim McCane in 45 years. We had a really nice conversation and he offered his assistance with putting the reunion together. It was a real treat to hear Squinty’s voice. He sounds the same!
I had the opportunity to have coffee with Andy Starer one afternoon this summer. We sat and talked for about an hour and a half. Now, I’ve known the Starer family most of my life; Dr. Starer was our family doc before he became an ophthalmologist. And, I promise you that the recent conversation Andy and I had was the longest that we had ever talked. I loved it!!!
I have found that I really enjoy knowing John Kuc……he’s a funny neat guy and has taught me ways of looking at things which have afforded me new freedom. The term IDC is now vernacular used by the Reunion Committee.
We have this opportunity to reach out to each other in this forum and to take our conversations privately when we choose. I heartily recommend that as you read the posts from everyone, you take a moment to add something from your own experience. Either from Swarthmore or beyond.
I became a grandmother for the first time this past February, on Valentine’s Day. My son Ted, the dad of little Anna is 44 years old. I tell him it’s just wrong for me to have a 44 year old child. But I do and finally he and his wife Michelle, afforded me grandparent status. So, life is good here in Lenni, PA. That’s where I live, in Delaware County. I’ve lived elsewhere but ended up back here in Pennsylvania 33 years ago. I’m not sure I like it, but apparently I am staying here for the foreseeable future.
